Why wait until the weekend for a lovely twist on a classic dish?
This recipe is easy enough for everyday use!
Step 1
In a small saucepan
Begin to melt a pat of butter
Step 2
Here’s where you can add your own flair
A bit of personality to the dish!
Hear something crash in the background –
Investigate –
or
Escape for a moment in an interesting article –
Best if it’s longform –
or
Finish packing lunches –
For as many people as your house holds –
or
Pick up the living room –
Just until it’s clean, mind you –
or
You get the idea.
Step 3
Return to the pan
Suddenly!
Upon remembering that the butter is still, in fact, melting
rather, has melted and is now browning
Step 4
Get lucky!
Arrive just before the brown butter
turns to burned butter
Step 5
Add eggs and scramble
I offer this poem as an explanation for my long absence from WordPress, and also as an announcement that I am back! More about that next week, but I’m glad to be back with you all. Thanksgiving is upon us, so comment with a “Step 2” moment from your holiday preparations!
