( Plain text, in case the photo gives you trouble)
A moment of thankfulness is like a drop of water
A tiny, refreshing sip in a vast desert
Giving hope of life.
Acknowledging blessings is like rain
Beginning with the ‘drip, drip’ of a few moments,
Strung together into a drizzle, then a steady flow of life
As arresting as a downpour on an old tin roof.
Those who cultivate gratitude experience it as the joining of streams
Trickling, running, flowing together in ever-increasing power
Tumbling, soaring from every ledge like the roar of waterfalls
A force to be reckoned with, a river winding across vast distances,
Leaving the soul’s landscape forever changed in its wake.
The truly grateful become what Christ intended:
Springs of life, endlessly bubbling and flowing with clear, sweet water
Running over the boundaries of their own soul,
Carving canyons into hearts of stone,
Drawing out the eternal spring
from which they first found life.
