You and I are hardly acquainted,
But I think I like you!
Your division of labor seems just
And not heavy-handed
Your hours meet our needs,
Yet allow crevices for new joys
And points of connection
I’m sure we’ll be arguing
In a week or two
When the butterflies wear off
And I must submit
Day in, day out
But for now, let’s be friends!
Working side by side
For the same ends
